At the Black Women’s Institute for Health (BWIH), we recognize a profound truth: the voices and experiences of Black women and girls in Canada have too often been invisible—not merely overlooked but genuinely unheard. “Voices UnHeard” is our response, a groundbreaking initiative designed not just to ask, but to truly listen. For the first time, we are asking: “How are you doing, sis?” The Voices Unheard: Vital Signs Survey for Black Women aims to gather real insights into our health, our well-being, and the challenges we face—because our voices matter. If we are good, our children are good. If we are good, our partners are good. If we are good, our communities are good.
