Free Virtual Therapy for Adults Seeking Mental Health Support
Your mental health matters. Your well-being is important. You deserve support.
At the Black Women’s Institute for Health (BWIH), we recognize the unique challenges that come with navigating mental health care, particularly for Black communities and other marginalized groups. We also understand that access to culturally responsive, affirming, and trauma-informed mental health support is often out of reach due to financial and systemic barriers.
Through a partnership with GreenShield Cares, we are pleased to offer NINE free hours of therapy to adults across Canada. These sessions provide an opportunity to connect with a therapist in a safe and supportive environment, free from judgment and financial burden
We are actively working on securing sustained funding to provide long-term mental health support for adults. While this free session is just a starting point, we believe that accessing the right therapist, even for one session, can be a vital step in your healing journey.

When Immediate Medical Support is Needed
If you or someone you care about is experiencing a mental health crisis that requires urgent medical attention, it is important to access support in a way that prioritizes safety and care.
Search and Seek
If possible, seek out a trusted friend, family member, or community support to assist you in accessing care.
Get in Contact
Some hospitals have dedicated mental health crisis teams—you may want to contact the hospital directly to ask about mental health-specific supports before going in person.
Be Specific
If calling emergency services (911) becomes necessary, you have the right to request responders trained in mental health crisis intervention and to have an advocate or support person with you if possible.
Start Your Healing Journey Today
Once you submit the form, our team will match you with a therapist who understands you. You deserve to be supported. You deserve care. We’re here for you.
